Day 5 Freycinet National Park Tasmania 11th March 2011

Waking up to the sound of heavy rain on the tent is something i actually love, and after it stops and you stick your head out for the sunrise its even better: Coles Bay, Freycinet National Park Tasmania.

Had some wild critters in camp last night, kept me awake, then the rain put me back to sleep, then we woke to a nice sunrise and a sunny day.

Started the day with some hiking around near Cape Tourville Freycinet N.P

Majestic cliff faces on the return journey.

There is a different track down to the one going up,this one gets a bit more rugged as you descend.

After dinner it was time to relax on the beach and wait for the sun to set: Freycinet N.P

Back to camp for a well earned beer and a good nights sleep as we need to be up early to pack up and hit the road. We will definately return to Freycinet.

Day 4 Low Head to Freycinet 10th March 2011

We left Low Head and past Neds place in George Town only to be given the bird, so we continued on to Bridport

Bridport is a lovely town with nice beaches and i have marked it in as worth a stay in the camper next time.

Driving along a long dirt road for ages we finally get a small stretch of tar but watch out! we have 2 cows running amok and out of control, time to pull up. Near Little Boobyalla River N/E Tasmania.

Back on the dirt again, we had about 6 hours of this. On the road between Tomohawk and Gladstone N/E Tasmania:

Some of the views were worth it. Near Cameron Regional reserve N/E Tasmania:

A long drive on the dirt to Mt William National Park where we take the Forester on the Forester Kangaroo Road.

Time for a few more shots but the day marches on, we have traveleed alot of dirt and alot of kilometers and we have no idea where we are headed, Swansea, Bicheno? maybe have a look at Freycinet on the off chance we can find a free camp. View as we travel south down the east coast Tasmania near Swansea.
Arrived at Freycinet N.P and just caught the Ranger, got us a spot for $13 a night so took 2 nights at the price. Good toilets down the track a bit and very cold showers. We were knackered from the big days travel and by the time i set up camp and started tea and grabbed a beer i was feeling quite sleepy.
